Ugandans who made us proud this decade

We are doing great things internationally and we need to celebrate it.

The end of the decade is nigh. But how have we been represented on the world stage? Here we look at some of the people who made us proud to be associated with the name Uganda and flown the flat for us abroad and on the world stage.

Betty Bigombe

Senior Director at World Bank.


Bigombe has accomplished so much in her career including negotiations with the LRA to lay down their arms during the conflict.

MP, Activist & Musician


Stephen Kiprotich


Kiprotich did us proud at the 2012 Olympics bringing home our first gold since 1996. He received his accolade at the best moment of the whole tournament when all attention was on him (see video below).
